in 2022, Specialised Engineering Solutions were involved in the installation of a dual-polarized Doppler weather radar at Richmond, North Queensland.

SES’s electrical involvement for the Doppler project included installation of consumer mains and submains cabling, underground infrastructure, earthing, communications and data connectivity, ducted air-conditioning, general/ emergency lighting and power.

Located in remote Queensland, this project presented a number of logistical challenges which our team were able to overcome.

The radar is one of four new radars being delivered in Queensland as part of a $77.2m commitment by the Australian government to help improve forecast accuracy for remote farming communities.
